Dr Tony Tan
He was made a Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Education in 1979, before joining the Cabinet in 1980. He served in the Cabinet as Minister for Education (1980–81 & 1985–91), Minister for Trade & Industry (1981–86), Minister for Finance (1983–85), Minister for Health (1985–86), Deputy Prime Minister (1995-2005) and Co-ordinating Minister for Security and Defence. Tan had a 27 year political career.
In 2011, Dr Tony Tan has made an official move to to run for the position of the President of the Republic of Singapore.The following is a video about Dr Tony Tan's thoughts and feelings about the role of a President.
Mr Goh Chok Tong
He was first elected as Member of Parliament for Marine Parade constituency, as a People's Action Party (PAP) candidate in the 1976 General Elections. He has served as Prime Minister (1990-2004), Senior Minister (2004-11), Deputy Prime Minister (1985-90), Minister for Trade and Industry (1979-81), Minister for Health (1981-82), Minister for Defence (1982-91), Senior Minister of State for Finance (1977-79) and most recently Emeritus Senior Minister (2011- ).

Professor S. Jayakumar
Jayakumar served as Singapore's Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) and High Commissioner to Canada from 1971 to 1974, and was a member of Singapore's delegation to the UN Law of the Sea Conference from 1974 to 1979. Jayakumar has also served as Senior Minister (2009-11), Deputy Prime Minister (2004-09), Minister for Law (1988-2008), Co-ordinating Minster for National Security (2005-10), Minister for Home Affairs (1985-94) and Minister for Foreign Affairs (1994-2004).
Mr Wong Kan Seng
Wong became a Member of Parliament in 1984 when he was elected to repesent the Kuo Chuan constituency in Toa Payoh. He has since been re-elected as Member of Parliament for the Group Representation Constituencies of Toa Payoh (1988), Thomson (1991) and Bishan-Toa Payoh (1997, 2001, 2006 and 2011). Wong has served as Deputy Prime Minister (2005-11), Minister for Home Affairs (1994-2010), Minister for Foreign Affairs (1988-94) and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security (2010-11).
A major controversy regarding Mr Wong Kan Seng was the escape of Jemaah Islamiyah leader Mas Selamat bin Kastari while he was the Minister for Home Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. Mr Lee Hsien Loong
Lee has been in the Cabinet since 1984. During his time, he has been appointed Prime Minister (2004- ), Minister of Finance (2001-07) and Deputy Prime Minister (1990-2004). Lee entered politics at the age of 32 in 1984. He was appointed Minister of State in the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Defence in December 1984 by his father, Lee Kuan Yew, and was subsequently promoted to Acting Minister for Trade and Industry in 1986, and the Second Minister for Defence.
